Making a Difference

We may not be able to solve all the world’s problems, but we are here to bring love and light to at least our small corner of the world. If we start with our own hearts, and bring the light of loving kindness wherever we go, we are making a difference.

By responding to our lives with love instead of fear, we shine the light into corners that could have remained dark. We pass the light on to those around us, on and on until the whole planet is brighter. This is what we are here to do, small actions with loving energy. We can learn to bring the light of kindness and compassion into all those dark places, even when it’s difficult.

Every time our thoughts and feelings pull us away from love, all we need do is recognize and honor what we’re feeling, then gently bring our attention back to the heart. This may happen many times a day, but learning to acknowledge where we are, then come back to love is a great lesson. A little every day, and we build a brighter, more beautiful future for ourselves and our world.

Here are affirmations that may be helpful reminders:

I set my intention every day to think, speak and act with loving kindness.

When I witness myself or others acting from pain, anger or ignorance, I hold all of us in compassion, knowing we have not yet learned a better way.

Every day I bring loving energy into dark places and build a brighter world.
